Challenge

While Licensing International has been able to stay ahead of the curve for over three decades, their website was starting to fall behind. From our discussions with the client, it was clear that they were struggling with a slow loading website and lack of content accessibility. They wanted to make sure users can join membership easily and access news, research, and reports fast.

We did

Website

A fully functional, cleanly designed, user-friendly website with a smart search, enabling users to quickly and easily find what they were looking for

The Licensing International Membership Platform

AI & Machine Learning Enhanced Search

Web pages
We optimized all webpages for UX, speed, and functionality so that members can easily access information and stay informed and active.

How it works

The Socialfix strategy to add a smart search and integrate the database worked remarkably well in creating a user-friendly website where all content is easily accessible.

Seamless UX Experience with Bespoke Functionalities

As the website would primarily function as a hub of data, news, and research, it needed to be easy to navigate and accessible to create seamless user journeys.

We created a modern and simple, yet engaging design with some bespoke features such as a member’s login area, smart search, and newsletter sign-up form.

An easy-to-navigate website

Socialfix and Licensing International joined forces when their old website became outdated, slow, hard to navigate, and cumbersome to update. As a result of our partnership, Licensing International now enjoys a new fully functional, easy-to-navigate website, positioning it as a guiding source for members and site users.

A major focus of the project was crafting a website with a fresh and updated style where information is front and center, making it straightforward and easy to access for just about anyone.

As Result

We achieved the following results in the first twelve weeks (Year-over-Year to account for events seasonality): Increased page views, increased sessions, increased unique users by over 11% from November 2018 to May 2019, reduced bounce rate by 5%, increased membership growth rate & increased sponsorships. Our goal is to continue growth and expand further member and sponsor acquisition.

DEVELOPING A NON-PROFIT WEBSITE FAQs
How Can Non-profits Improve Their Online Presence?

When it comes to non-profits, having a strong online presence is crucial for attracting donors and volunteers. A successful non-profit website is:

  • easy to navigate and has clear calls to action

  • donation buttons are prominent and easy to use

  • volunteer opportunities are prominently displayed

In addition, non-profits should make use of social media platforms to communicate their mission and rally support. Regularly posting updates on current projects or events helps keep followers engaged and allows them to easily share information with their networks.

And don't forget about search engine optimization – using keywords in blog posts or website pages can improve visibility and bring in new supporters. In short, non-profits can enhance their online presence by ensuring their websites are user-friendly, actively utilizing social media, and utilizing SEO techniques.

Should Non-profit Organizations Have a Website?

Non-profit organizations may not be known for their cutting-edge technology, but having a website is essential in today's digital world.

Your website serves as the hub for all things related to your organization - it's where people can:

  • learn more about your mission and the work you do

  • find ways to get involved and donate

  • gather important information like event dates and contact information

Plus, with a well-designed website, potential donors and volunteers can trust that your organization is using resources wisely and staying current with technology. So while it may seem like an extra expense at first, a non-profit website can be a valuable investment in the long run.

Why Are Websites Important for Non-profits?

Non-profits are often running on limited resources, and it can be hard for them to afford traditional marketing strategies. But with a well-designed website, these organizations can easily reach a wide audience and share important information about their mission and impact.

Not only do websites serve as an efficient way to communicate with potential donors and volunteers, but they also provide credibility and legitimacy to non-profits in the eyes of those they serve.

How Does A Non-Profit Website Differ From A For-Profit Website?

A non-profit website has a different focus and purpose than a for-profit website. It’s typically focused on educating the public, promoting the organization's mission, and encouraging donations or volunteer work. Whereas for-profit websites are focused on generating revenue and promoting products or services.

What Does a Non-Profit Website Design and Development Involve?

A non-profit website design and development project typically involves a number of different steps, including:

  1. Gathering information about the organization and its mission– researching the organization and its goals, as well as identifying the target audience for the website

  2. Planning and designing the website–creating a website plan and design that will effectively communicate the organization's mission and goals, as well as providing a positive user experience

  3. Developing the website–writing the code and creating the functionality of the website

  4. Choosing a web developer with experience in non-profit websites and a strong portfolio. Make sure they have a deep understanding of your goals and target audience.

  5. Designing and developing - Work with your web developer to create a custom-coded website that reflects your brand and provides a seamless user experience. Make sure your website is optimized for all devices and includes the functionality you need to achieve your goals.

  6. Adding high-quality, relevant, and engaging content to your website. This can include information about your organization, its mission, and programs, as well as stories about your impact.

  7. Testing and launching the website–testing the website to ensure that it is fully functional and that there are no bugs or errors

  8. Ongoing maintenance and updates—keep the website up to date with new content, security patches, and other updates to ensure it remains effective and secure

By following these steps, you can develop a custom-coded website that effectively promotes your non-profit organization and achieves your goals. A well-designed website will help you build your brand, engage with your target audience, and make an impact.

What Web Designs Elements Should an NGO Website Include?

A website for an NGO should be designed to be informative, easy to navigate, visually appealing, and effectively communicate the NGO's mission, activities, and goals. It should:

  1. Have user-friendly navigation

  2. Have a responsive design–to look great and function well on a variety of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones

  3. Include attention-grabbing visuals– convey the organization's message more visually pleasing and effectively

  4. Have strong calls to action–encourage visitors to take action like making a donation or volunteering

  5. Have an accessible design– easy to use by as many people as possible, including those with disabilities

  6. Have clear & concise content–- easy to read and understand, with clear headings, paragraphs, and bullet points

How Can You Get Started With a Non-Profit Website Design and Development Project?

To get started with a non-profit website design and development project, you will need to gather information about your organization and its mission, as well as any specific goals or objectives for the website.

From there, you can work with a web developer or design team to create a website that meets your needs.

Do I Need a Web Design Company to Build an NGO Website?

When it comes to launching a website for your Non-Profit organization, it can be tempting to try and DIY the whole thing or go with a cheap "cookie cutter" option.

But before you go down that road, consider this: a Non-Profit website is often the first impression for potential donors and volunteers. Do you want to leave that up to an amateur design and spotty coding?

A professional web design and development company will ensure your Non-Profit's website is not only visually appealing but also compliant with the latest web standards, secure, easy to use, and finds success in meeting your Non-Profit's goals.

So while enlisting the help of a web design company may seem like an added expense at first glance, it could potentially pay off in the long run in increased support for your Non-Profit's mission.

How Much Does a Non-Profit Website Design and Development Cost?

The cost of a non-profit website design and development can vary depending on the specific needs of the organization and the complexity of the website.

It's best to consult with the web development agency for an accurate cost estimate.
